[T.E.L.L. April]: Let the Net Work: Harnessing the power of networks to solve real world problems

Based on the great feedback we’ve been getting from ETUG members on activities for this year, and in keeping with the theme of OPEN begun at last year’s workshop in Nelson, SCETUG is organizing Lunch n’ Learn webinars taking place on the last Tuesday of the month.  No registration is required.

So… when?

Our next webinar is scheduled for Tuesday April 24th 12:00-1:00 pm DST. Join Clint Lalonde,Manager, Learning Technologies, Centre for Teaching & Educational Technology, Royal Roads University  for “Let the Net Work: Harnessing the power of networks to solve real world problems”.
In this session, Clint will be talking about learning networks, harnessing the network effect, and crowdsourcing. He’ll be giving some examples of how social networks are being used by educators, academic researchers and others to find answers and solutions to real world problems.
This presentation was given as part of a panel on social media and Web 2.0 at the Broadcast Educators Association of Canada conference in May, 2011.

How does it work?

Many of us frequently develop workshops at our institutions. A lot of time and energy goes into the development of the workshop and the materials, but we might only present this material once or twice to members of our institution. This is your chance to RE-USE and share your workshop presentation with a wider community, the ETUG community.  If you have a presentation or a workshop already developed and are interested in facilitating a Lunch n’ Learn or sharing resources you’ve developed get in touch with Leva Lee (leva.lee@bccampus.ca).

Where do I attend one of these Lunch n’ Learns?

Bring your lunch, put on your headset and connect with your computer to the session via our ETUG Collaborate Meeting Room. Guest link: https://sas.elluminate.com/m.jnlp?sid=727&password=M.8BB0A08544A89B280F30DAB935B03D
The audio of the session will be recorded and shared.
