To provide application administration and technical support for the development, maintenance, administration
and enhancement of Kwantlen’s learning technology systems.
JOB DUTIES AND TASKS:
1. Provide system administration back up and support for the development, maintenance and
enhancement of Kwantlen’s learning management system and other learning technologies as
a. Perform routine system administration tasks.
b. Prepare and maintain system and user documentation.
c. Provide ongoing application support, including problem resolution and emergency maintenance when
2. Provide Second Level support for incidents escalated by the IET Service Desk:
a. Investigate and troubleshoot student and faculty issues related to the LMS and other systems.
b. Design and develop technical/procedural solutions for assigned projects.
c. Respond to user questions.
d. Train and assist users during the test and implementation phases of application development.
3. Communicate with other members of IET and academic units:
a. Train other staff members in application troubleshooting techniques.
b. Conduct training/information sessions on learning tools and technologies.
c. Collaborate in development projects or troubleshooting sessions as necessary.
4. Perform other related duties as required:
a. Participate in planning software maintenance releases.
b. Assist with researching, testing, and documenting new tools, modules and plug-ins.
c. Assist and provide backup support for the LMS course request process.
d. Participate in the preparation of cost estimates of software/hardware and resources in application
