Sketching in Practice

SKETCHING IN PRACTICE (SKiP) is a two-day symposium that explores the construction of meanings through sketching. This year we are focusing on the HOW and WHY particular visual strategies are used to achieve a goal.

This event is held in partnership with Simon Fraser University’s Faculty of Communication, Art & TechnologySchool of Interactive Art and TechnologyFaculty of Arts & Social Sciences; and the Teaching and Learning Centre.

Research Project on Effectiveness of Online Learning Activities

Melissa Jakubec is a Senior Learning Designer at Thompson Rivers University – Open Learning. She is conducting a research project into the effectiveness of online learning activities. You are invited to participate in a survey on the effectiveness of online learning activities, which should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes and will be open until June 30. The purpose of this project is to ascertain which learning activities instructional designers and educators perceive to be most effective in online environments. Another purpose is to gather instructional designers and educators’ views of which characteristics contribute most to the effectiveness of a learning activity.
