Two face-to-face workshops are organized each year to provide members with an opportunity to network, learn, and share ideas. The workshops are focused on current high-interest topics in educational technology,  teaching and learning.

ETUG Fall Workshops are typically held in early November. The workshops are one day events  with a single stream of presenters/sessions. During the Fall, a pub night social is also organized for members to network in an informal setting.

ETUG Spring Workshops are typically held on Thursday and Friday during the first week of June. These workshops are a 2 day program of concurrent sessions. ETUG Spring workshops focus on hands-on labs. A welcome pub night on the Wednesday evening prior to the workshop and an evening dinner on Thursday are also part of the Spring workshop program to provide ample time for networking.

ETUG workshops are held at at a convenient campus location in the Lower Mainland. If you are interested in hosting a workshop at your institution, let us know!

Current Workshop

The Festival of Learning is a unique, four-day celebration of learning and teaching in higher education in British Columbia to be held June 6 – 9, 2016 at the Delta Hotel & Conference Centre in Burnaby, B.C.

Key provincial teaching and learning support groups are working together for the first time to bring this rich and diverse professional learning opportunity to all our colleagues in higher education. The Festival of Learning will bring together a number of established groups and well-attended annual provincial events under one banner including:

Faculty, instructors, professors, educational developers, instructional designers, educational technologists, librarians, leaders, and all who work in support of higher ed teaching and learning in BC  will find a variety of opportunities to learn, laugh, create and collaborate with colleagues from across B.C. and beyond.

This event will combine features of traditional conferences (e.g., workshops and sessions) with more adventurous formats like intensives, institutes, studios, cafes, showcases, slams and maker fairs.

The Festival schedule will also include whole-day or multiple-day workshops focussed on specific topics (e.g., Leadership, Course Redesign, Open Pedagogy, Liberating Structures), as well as a variety of social events and spaces for groups to network.

Participants can join for one, two, three or all four days and be able to create a custom schedule of integrated learning experiences. BCcampus is supporting the development of this event, along with many volunteers across the province to make this a memorable time for all.

The Call for Proposals for ETUG Sessions at the Festival of Learning is now OPEN! Deadline for proposals is March 14, 2016.
