Member Profile – Melanie Latham, Coordinator of Educational Technologies

I work at Thompson Rivers University as a Coordinator of Educational Technologies where I help faculty members navigate the intersection between digital pedagogy and learning design. This often means providing technical support, assisting with projects that involve technology, or developing and delivering learning opportunities. I’ve been in the post-secondary teaching and learning field for 10 years and have been with TRU for nearly 3 years. I’m a crafter at heart and have worked with many art forms including wood working, drawing, painting, sewing, metal working, crocheting, clay sculpture… the list goes on and on!

I’ve been an ETUG member since 2022 and am currently the Vice Co-Chair of the Stewardship Committee. What I like best about the ETUG community is that everyone shares a similar passion and purpose but it’s informed by their individual lenses and contexts which really enriches the conversations and knowledge sharing. Over the years I’ve made some great connections with others from different institutions and look forward to ETUG opportunities where we reconnect. If there is something you want or need from this wonderful community, please don’t hesitate to ask – suggestions are always welcome!
